Fulton County seeks candidates for juvenile center advisory board

10/5/2004

WAUSEON - Fulton County commissioners are taking applications to replace Richard Darcy on the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Detention, Training, and Rehabilitation Center advisory board, which oversees operations of the 32-bed facility southeast of Stryker, Ohio.

Mr. Darcy, a retired Wauseon school principal, had been on the board since its inception in 1994. He resigned last month, saying he wanted to spend more time at his Florida home.

Commissioners are accepting applications until Oct. 15 for Mr. Darcy's term, which runs through 2009.

Another Fulton County seat on the 13-member board is expected to be vacated soon. Fulton County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Richard Buchs has said he will retire at the end of the year from both the sheriff's department and the detention center board, Sheriff Darrell Merillat said.
