Coroner identifies body as 70-year-old woman

The body found Saturday in a central Toledo home in an advanced stage of mummification has been identified as that of Jessie Means, 70.

She died of natural causes, Dr. James Patrick, Lucas County coroner, ruled.

Police found the body in the bathroom of her home at 111 Wellington St. after an acquaintance, who had been trying to contact her for several months, notified authorities, said Steve Kahle, a coroner's investigator.

Ms. Means' electricity had been turned off since July and neighbors said they last saw her in August, Mr. Kahle said, but it was not precisely known when she died.
