Lake Township: Fire department seeks funds for Jaws of Life

10/6/2004

Members of the Millbury Firemen's Association will be asking for donations for a new "Jaws of Life" for the Lake Township Fire Department in a door-to-door fund-raiser beginning this week.

The fire department's "Jaws of Life" equipment - used to extricate crash victims - is 25 years old, and new equipment costs $25,000 to $35,000, according to Todd Walters, Lake Township station two district chief.

To raise the money, members will be selling $25 coupons good until Dec. 31 that can be redeemed for a free, color, 11-by-14 family portrait at Eternity of Memories by Tammy J. Palmer in Northwood. The portrait is a $70 value and donations are tax deductible, Chief Walters said.
