Walbridge council OKs member's resignation

10/7/2004

Walbridge village council accepted the resignation of Councilman Jerry Eversman at last night's meeting, though members had no prior knowledge of his Sept. 21 resignation letter.

Mr. Eversman - who also headed the Walbridge recreation committee - told The Blade that he plans to move out of Walbridge later this month to begin a new business, but would not disclose any details about the business or where he is moving.

He also resigned from his job as an investigator in the crime victims services sector at the Ohio attorney general's Toledo regional office.

Mr. Eversman, who served on council from 1992 to 1996 and again from 2001 until Sept. 21, said he did not intend to seek re-election after his term expired at the end of 2005.

Council members have until their next meeting on Oct. 20 to appoint someone to fill Mr. Eversman's position. After that date, it becomes Mayor Dan Wilczynski's responsibility to fill the spot.
