10/7/2004

WAUSEON - A Tour of Hope team of bicyclists riding cross-country to promote cancer research is to make its only Ohio stop in Wauseon for a public rally from 7 to 9 tonight at the Fulton County Health Center.

The team of 20 cyclists is made up of cancer survivors, researchers, physicians, nurses, and other caregivers and is affiliated with champion cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. He will not be in Wauseon, however.

The tour left Los Angeles Friday and is to ride into Ohio late this afternoon on U.S. 6.

After appearing at the rally, they are to head south on State Rt. 108, arriving in Napoleon at 9:15 p.m. An hour later, they are to pedal through Bowling Green.

By 11:15 p.m., they are expected to be passing through Helena in Sandusky County, and about 12:45 a.m. tomorrow, they are to go through the Bellevue downtown area.
