WAUSEON - A Toledo youth was seriously injured Sunday evening in Fulton County when he failed to yield to an oncoming sport utility vehicle, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol's Toledo post.

Landon Zunk, 16, was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition yesterday, a hospital spokesman said.

The wreck occurred just after 6 p.m. as young Zunk was driving a 1993 Toyota Corolla north on County Road 16, the highway patrol said. At the intersection with U.S. 20A, he failed to yield the right of way to an eastbound 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Amber N. Siebert, 17, of Hamler, Ohio.

Amber was taken to Fulton County Health Center. An unidentified passenger in her vehicle did not require transport, the highway patrol said. Landon was trapped inside his car and had to be extracted. Both drivers wore seat belts.
