A local development firm has withdrawn its request for rezoning a site near Centennial and Sylvania-Metamora roads for a Kroger store and three smaller buildings.
Residents opposed the development at a meeting last month of the Sylvania Planning Commission.
The panel approved establishing a planned unit development for the approximately 12-acre site near the northwest corner of the intersection.
The development firm, Tal-Wen LLC, said in a statement Kroger told them it wants to develop larger stores than the Sylvania site will accommodate.
