Maumee City Council last night awarded a $200,000 grant to United Collection Bureau Inc., a Toledo company moving to Arrowhead Park in Maumee.

The debt-collection firm plans to move from 5620 Southwyck Blvd. to 1345 Ford St., a vacant tenant space previously owned by S.E. Johnson Co.

The collections firm expects to employ 120 people full time with an estimated annual payroll of $5 million after three years of operation in Arrowhead Park. The company wanted to relocate so it could expand its operations, City Administrator John Jezak said.

The city will give United Collection Bureau $20,000 a year for 10 years as part of its job creation and retention grant program. To qualify for the grant, the company pledged to remain in Maumee at least 15 years.
