RIDGEVILLE CORNERS, Ohio - A Four County Career Center student was hurt seriously on his way to school yesterday when the car he was riding in with a classmate failed to stop at an intersection and was hit by a pickup in Henry County.

Dallas Robinette, 16, a junior in the pre-engineering curriculum at Four County, was in serious condition in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after the 8:30 a.m. crash less than a mile from the career center. Mr. Robinette, of Glenburg Road west of Defiance, was riding with Josiah Mack, 17, a junior in Four County's diesel program, who was treated at Defiance Regional Medical Center. Both students are from the Defiance area's Tinora High School.

Mr. Mack of Elliott Road, near Defiance, was driving north on Henry County Road 23 when he apparently failed to stop for a stop sign at U.S. 6, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol's Defiance post. The car he was driving was struck in the passenger door area by a pickup driven westbound on U.S. 6 by Bruce A. Irwin, who lives on County Road C, near Stryker, Ohio. Mr. Irwin was treated at the Defiance hospital.
