Most communities in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan will hold Halloween trick-or-treat hours on the traditional Oct. 31, although more than a dozen will be on other dates.

Parents who wish to have their children s candy screened by X-ray for metal before consumption have at least three area locations where they can go on Oct. 31: The Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center at Spielbusch Avenue and Orange Street in Toledo from 6-9 p.m.

Washington Township Fire Department, 2469 Shoreland Ave. in the Point Place area from 6-9 p.m.

Perrysburg Municipal Court, 300 Walnut St., from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Judge S. Dwight Osterud will have treats for the children.
