Habitat official to speak at seminary in Findlay

FINDLAY Nicolas Retsinas, vice chairman of Habitat for Humanity International, will speak at a Habitat poverty awareness call from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. today at the Winebrenner Theological Seminary Chapel, room 254, at the University of Findlay campus. The event is free and open to the public.

He is vice-chairman of the Habitat group and lecturer in housing studies at the Harvard University Design School and Harvard s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Retsinas address will take the form of a telephone conference to collegiate chapters across the country.

A presentation on the work of the UF Habitat chapter and the Findlay-Hancock County Habitat affiliate will precede the presentation. HFHI is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness in the world.

It was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller and has built more than 175,000 houses around the world, aiding more than 750,000 people in 3,000 communities.
