MONROE - A Monroe woman died yesterday in a car-truck accident that Monroe County sheriff's deputies said was weather-related.

Amanda Brown, 18, was northbound on North Dixie Highway near Fermi Drive shortly after 11:30 a.m. when she lost control of her car on the slush-covered road and slid sideways into southbound Dixie, where she collided with a truck driven by Robert Livernois, 34, of Newport, Mich.

Ms. Brown was taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, where she was pronounced dead. Mr. Livernois was treated there.
