Ex-Fostoria chief wants court to overturn firing

FOSTORIA - Former Fostoria Police Chief Dennis Day has asked a court to overturn the Fostoria Civil Service Commission's decision upholding his dismissal as the city's top cop.

On Dec. 16, the commission upheld six charges filed by the city against Mr. Day accusing the former chief of "dishonesty, insubordination, neglect of duty, and failure of good behavior." The former chief's attorney, Michelle Sullivan, called the decision "unconstitutional, illegal, arbitrary, capricious, unreasonable" in the appeal, filed Thursday in Seneca County Common Pleas Court.
