Car jumps guardrail, killing man from Bryan

BRYAN - A local man died in Community Hospitals of Williams County here early yesterday after the vehicle in which he was a passenger crashed late Tuesday on U.S. 127 at Williams County Road 15D in Pulaski Township, about a half-mile northeast of here, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Charles F. White, 58, of Bryan was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m., about 45 minutes after the accident, troopers at the patrol's Defiance post said.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was partially thrown from the passenger seat, troopers said.

Kenneth H. Chandler, Jr., 46, also of Bryan, the driver of the vehicle, was treated at Community Hospitals. He was wearing a seat belt.

Mr. Chandler was driving north on U.S. 127 about 11:30 p.m. when he failed to round a curve at Road 15D, troopers said.

The vehicle jumped a guardrail, overturned, and came to rest on its roof.
