Lima man, 30, killed when car strikes tree

LIMA, Ohio - A Lima man was killed Sunday night when his car went out of control on North Shore Drive and smashed into a tree.

Tony Earl, 30, was westbound on a curving stretch of the road about 10:45 p.m. when he struck a road sign and bounced across the street into a tree. Lima police said speed may have been a factor.

A passing motorist reported the crash.
