3/15/2005

SANDUSKY - A steering committee that's considering ways to reduce the number of accidents on a busy stretch of U.S. 250 will meet today to consider improvements to the road.

Representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation and the consulting firm Mannick & Smith will discuss options such as combining business driveways.

The session will be held at 1 p.m. at Great Wolf Lodge, 4600 Milan Rd.

The section of U.S. 250 being studied runs 4 1/2 miles between Bogart Road and U.S. 6 and has been heavily developed with stores, motels, and restaurants over the past several years.

Members of the steering committee include corridor property owners, representatives of the Ohio Highway Patrol, and officials from the city of Sandusky and Perkins Township.
