Perrysburg approves new police contract

3/16/2005

Perrysburg City Council yesterday approved a contract with a new police union and hired a consulting firm to revise its planning and zoning code.

The contract with the International Union of Police Associations Local 45, which represents Perrysburg's full-time sergeants, is effective through Feb. 28, 2006.

Councilman Maria Ermie said this is the first time the police sergeants have formed a union. The contract, which currently covers three employees, establishes an 11-step pay scale with hourly wages, ranging from $20.96 to $28.16.

In other business, council hired Beckett and Raeder Inc., a Toledo planning firm, to help revise the city's planning and zoning code. The city will pay the firm $74,625.
