Perrysburg Township plans to fix fire truck

3/18/2005

The Perrysburg Township Fire Department is making plans to repair a pumper truck that was damaged Tuesday when it collided with another vehicle.

The accident occurred at State Rt. 795 and Glenwood Road, Deputy fire Chief Thomas Brice said.

A vehicle southbound on Glenwood failed to yield to the fire truck, which was eastbound on Route 795. The fire truck hit the side of the other vehicle. No one was hurt.

Chief Brice said he has not yet received a damage estimate, but the pumper is out of service and will need to go back to the manufacturer in Wisconsin to be repaired.

He said the Lime City fire station has a back-up pumper, so the department is covered while the damaged vehicle is out of service.
