BLUFFTON

  • "One in Christ? Christian Faith and Political Witness in a Red/Blue Culture," a talk by John D. Roth, a Goshen College history professor, will be the Bluffton University Forum at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Yoder Recital Hall. His lecture is free and open to the public.

  • "Shame the Devil! An Audience with Fanny Kemble," a one-woman performance, is set for 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in Bluffton University's Ramseyer Auditorium. The show about Kemble, a 19th century British actress, author, abolitionist, wife, and mother, will be followed by a discussion with director Janet Wilson and actress Lori Adams. The performance is free and open to the public.

  • Step Afrika!, a precision step-dance troupe, will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Bluffton University's Yoder Recital Hall. The event, part of the spring African-American and cultural events scheduled by the school's multicultural affairs office, is free and open to the public.

    BOWLING GREEN

  • Bring a chair and observe the courtship of the American Woodcock at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Baldwin Woods on Euler Road between Range Line and Potter roads. Call the Wood County Park District to register.

    FINDLAY

  • John Thebes of Toledo, one of the attorneys defending the Rev. Gerald Robinson, a priest charged with the 1980 murder of a Toledo nun, will speak at the University of Findlay at 2 p.m. today at the Winebrenner Theological Seminary auditorium on North Main Street. His lecture is free and open to the public.

  • Bring a lawn chair and observe the spring ritual of the timberdoodle, also known as the American Woodcock, at Riverbend Recreation Area at 6:45 p.m. Friday. No registration is necessary. Call the Hancock Park District for more information.

    OREGON

  • The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft will offer a one-day Ohio Boating Education Course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the recreation center at Bowling Green State University.

  • The Medical College of Ohio School of Nursing will host a Nursing Careers and Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the Grand Ballroom of the Toledo Hilton, 3100 Glendale Ave.

  • Area high school seniors are invited to learn about Owens Community College's many educational opportunities during a fun, music-themed event as the college hosts "Registration Rocks," today through Thursday and March 28-31.   • The 2005 spring season of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Authors! Authors! Series presented by The Blade opens at 7 p.m. on Wednesday with Pulitzer Prize winner Edward P. Jones, at the Stranahan Theater Great Hall, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd.
