Waterville tree laws reviewed

3/23/2005

Waterville Village Council last week reviewed proposed changes to the village's law about trees.

A new law would fine residents up to $1,000 for damaging trees on village property. It also would require people to get a permit when doing construction around trees on village-owned land.

"This really gives us the ability to keep a hold on contractors as we're replacing sidewalks," Councilman Pauline Glaza said.

Council will continue discussing the issue later this month.
