SANDUSKY - The Jet Express, which ferries passengers between Port Clinton and Put-in-Bay each summer, plans to expand service to Sandusky starting next month, according to a press release from the city of Sandusky.

The Jet Express III ferry will make eight daily round trips between Sandusky and South Bass Island, with an additional round trip on Saturdays and holidays. Boats will leave Sandusky every two hours, starting at 9 a.m., while the last ferry will leave Put-in-Bay at midnight. One-way fares will be $15 for adults and $7 for children ages 5 to 12, the same amount charged to and from Port Clinton.

The Put-in-Bay Boat Line Co., which operates the Jet Express, has negotiated an agreement to use the Cedar Point dock at the foot of Columbus Avenue in downtown Sandusky. The boat line also has agreed to spend about $50,000 to promote the Sandusky service.
