Findlay service director quits, treasurer to fill in

4/7/2005

FINDLAY - Less than a year after becoming city service director, John Arnold announced he will resign effective April 15.

Mr. Arnold did not give a specific reason for his decision but said the idea of returning to retirement appealed to him.

Mayor Tony Iriti appointed City Treasurer Jim Staschiak to replace Mr. Arnold. Mr. Staschiak said he'll continue to oversee city finances.

"We've got some tough issues coming up," he said. "With the money that has been spent and our reserves getting lower, we're going to have to work harder to improve things and continue to provide the services for the city."
