Northwood: Council marks area for ball diamonds

4/6/2005

Ball players can expect to have two new baseball diamonds at Brentwood Park once enough money has been granted or raised for the project.

Northwood City Council recently earmarked an area off Tracey Road that is next to the park to construct two - and possibly three - ball fields to add to the two diamonds at the park, City Administrator Pat Bacon said.

She said the city's recreation board recommended building fields because members said they have seen an increase in the number of children participating in the baseball program.

Ms. Bacon said the fields will be built on property the city owns behind what will be the new fire station once the recreation board obtains enough recreational grants or money through fundraisers to build the fields.
