Police, trustees OK pay pact in Perrysburg Township

4/8/2005

Perrysburg Township trustees and the township's police patrol officers have agreed on a new three-year contract after several months of negotiations.

The local chapter of the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association and the trustees this week approved a fact-finder's report that calls for 2.75 percent wage increases this year and next year and a 3 percent wage increase in the third year of the contract.

This year's raise was made retroactive to Jan. 1. The patrol officers this year will receive a base hourly wage ranging from $21.73 to $24.46, depending on seniority.

Township officials have been negotiating since October with the patrol officers' union, which has about 17 members. An arbitrator made recommendations on several disputed issues, including wages and promotions.
