NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - A Bowling Green man was killed yesterday after stepping in front of a train on Bushey Road just east of here. Investigators are treating the incident as a suicide, authorities said.

William Davis, Jr., 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chief Deputy Eric Reynolds, of the Wood County Sheriff's Office, said Mr. Davis drove to the railroad crossing and parked his car nearby.

Chief Deputy Reynolds said the eastbound train, which was traveling about 35 mph, blew its whistle and tried to brake about 8:38 a.m. when Mr. Davis stepped in front of it, but he didn't move.
