Maumee board advises rezoning of Linck Inn site

4/13/2005

The Maumee Planning Commission is recommending that the city rezone the site of the former Linck Inn to allow a restaurant to operate in the vacant historic building.

The commission on Monday approved changing the zoning from R-3 residential to C-3 commercial. Gianno's Italian Bistro, a restaurant now located on West Dussel Drive in Maumee, is hoping to relocate to the Linck Inn building at River Road and East Wayne Street.

David Ball, an area developer chosen to work on converting Toledo's old riverfront steam plant into housing, hopes to buy and renovate the Linck Inn building for the restaurant if the zoning change is finalized.

Maumee City Council is scheduled to discuss the zoning change Monday. Council must approve the change before it goes into effect.
