FINDLAY - U.S. Rep. Mike Oxley (R., Findlay) gave a $30,000 boost yesterday to the Blanchard Valley Regional Medical Center's $95 million renovation and construction project.

Mr. Oxley said the contribution was from the American Council for Excellence, a foundation he helped create to support projects throughout the 4th Congressional District. Both he and his brother were born in Blanchard Valley, where his mother was a volunteer.

"I have a great, longterm interest in the hospital and their well-being," Mr. Oxley said. "This is just a small token of our appreciation for all that the hospital has meant to our family."

Blanchard Valley is in the midst of building a six-story hospital that will include 152 private rooms.

It is to be completed in late 2006.
