Tony Thomas of Toledo, a member of Boy Scout Troop 201, will receive the rank of Eagle Scout at a court of honor ceremony to be held Sunday.

His Eagle project was the design and creation of a walking trail through woods around Westgate Chapel. The project consisted of clearing brush and removing trees.

Tony, a junior and athlete at Bowsher High School, is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Latin Club.

Janice French of Sylvania, provider relations liaison for the Arrowhead Park, Maumee office of Aetna, Inc., has been inducted into the Manchester Who's Who Registry of Executives and Professionals.

Ms. French has a degree in management and entrepreneurship in economics from the State University of New York and is working toward a master of business administration degree in healthcare administration.

Anthony Wayne Schools superintendent Randy Hardy, high school principal Bob Slykhuis, and retired teacher Polly Albaugh were named Paul Harris Fellows at the Waterville Rotary meeting on April 4. Paul Harris founded Rotary in 1905.

Honored for their lifetime commitment to education, the three awardees each received a certificate, a lapel pin, and a medallion.

Carlton Finkbeiner, former Toledo mayor, is one of about 75 leaders worldwide who have received the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Award this year. The award will be presented to Mr. Finkbeiner at the Toastmasters spring conference at the Toledo Hilton on April 23.

Toastmasters district 28 governor Sheryl Blessing cited Mr. Finkbeiner for strengthening the businesses and neighborhoods of Toledo during his tenure as mayor of the city.
