Maumee: Shook resigns stint as council president

4/13/2005

Maumee Councilman Tom Shook has resigned as president of council after more than three years in the position.

His resignation is effective at the end of the month, when the council will have to elect a new president. The president represents council at twice monthly city staff meetings and any other administrative meetings where a council member is needed.

Mr. Shook said he decided to resign because he will begin coaching the boys' soccer team for Anthony Wayne High School in the fall, and the job will require extra time.

"I'm ready for a new challenge," he said.
