Four people were hurt, at least one seriously, yesterday when a sport utility vehicle they were in rolled over on the Ohio Turnpike near I-280 in Lake Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

James Anderson, 61, of Detroit, who was hurt seriously, was flown by a medical helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. The other occupants of the SUV were transported to St. Vincent hospital with less serious injuries. They were the driver, Benjamin Anderson, 60, of Detroit and two passengers: Ethel Anderson, 58, also of Detroit, and Machelle Hawkins, 47, of Sterling Heights, Mich., a sergeant at the Highway Patrol post in Swanton said.

The Andersons' SUV was eastbound on the turnpike about two-thirds of a mile east of I-280 at 5:30 p.m. when the driver lost control of it, the sergeant said.

Benjamin Anderson was cited for reckless operation of the SUV, the sergeant added.
