SAND CREEK, Mich. Authorities yesterday were still investigating a Friday night crash that killed an Adrian High School freshman and injured five other people.

Frank Avila, 15, of Adrian was killed when the 1994 Chevrolet Blazer S-10 he was riding in rolled over, ejecting him, on Bryant Road about 11:25 p.m. Friday, said Corporal Ben Oram of the Lenawee County sheriff s department.

After young Avila was ejected, the vehicle landed on him, the corporal said.

According to the sheriff s department, the vehicle was driven by Lance Dickerson, 20, of Jasper, Mich., who was westbound on Bryant just west of Elliott Highway in Seneca Township when he drove over a railroad grade and lost control. Corporal Oram said the vehicle went off the south side of the road and struck a culvert.

Two passengers in the car, Katrina Scott, 15, of Adrian, and Lacei Senters, 16, of Jasper, were taken by helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where Miss Scott was in serious condition last night.

Miss Senters was not listed as a patient, a hospital spokesman said.

Mr. Dickerson and two other passengers, Jeremy Scott Berile, 14, and Frank Avila s brother, Thomas Avila, 14, both of Adrian, were treated at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, a hospital spokesman said.
