State route in Henry County to close during repairs

4/22/2005

BOWLING GREEN - A state route in Henry County will be closed for about six weeks, beginning May 2, for repair work at a railroad viaduct, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

State Rt. 109/110 will close at the Indiana and Ohio Railroad viaduct in Harrison Township for 45 days. The project will improve drainage, replace concrete curbs and gutters, increase the vertical clearance between the road and the overhead bridge, and replace the road's surface.

Traffic will be detoured via U.S. 6, State Rt. 65, and State Rt. 110, adding six miles to a motorist's route.

State Rt. 109 is scheduled to reopen to traffic June 17, weather permitting.

Vernon Nagel Inc., of Napoleon is the contractor for the $905,000 project, which is scheduled for completion July 31.
