Residents invited to offer input on Findlay's future

FINDLAY - Residents who want to offer their ideas about the kind of community they want Findlay to become will have one more opportunity next month.

Mayor Tony Iriti's "community visioning committee" listened to public comments at a forum Monday night, and plans to hold a second public hearing May 5 at the Findlay Inn and Conference Center.

The task force, which is divided into subcommittees dealing with areas like education, parks and recreation, housing, and business development, has been meeting for nearly a year to develop recommendations on where Findlay should be heading in the next 20 years.

Mayor Iriti said residents might have different ideas than the committee members.

"We've got to be ready to accept that," he said. "We have to understand what it is that the community is looking for and work that through to be able to make it happen."
