June 1: Free prostate cancer screenings for all men in the community, 4 to 7 p.m. at the center, given by St. Charles Mercy Hospital physicians. Screenings are confidential and done in complete privacy. To make an appointment, call 419-251-4000.

Activities include Bingo, fitness, ceramics, painting, computer classes, line dancing, volleyball and shuffleboard, shopping trips, sewing and crafts, movie days, and various theme parties.

Daily lunch program; reservations due by 11 a.m. the day before.

Mondays: ceramic class at 9:30 a.m. at $2 per class. Take your own greenware; paints provided.

Tuesdays: free knitting and crocheting class at 9:30 a.m.

First Wednesday: blood pressure screenings at 11:15 a.m.

Second Wednesday: craft class from 6:30 to 8 p.m., $5 per class. Schedule, register: 419-691-1429, ext. 111.

Outreach services: seniors who need help to fill out insurance or other forms, or who need housekeeping or snow removal services, please call Joyce at the center, 419-691-2254.

Computer classes for ages 55 and older through Computer Sight, a program using adaptive equipment such as large-screen monitors and magnifiers. Courses are for first-time users and those needing word processing, e-mail, and beginning spreadsheet instruction. Each four-hour course is $60.

Power electric wheelchairs available to senior citizens age 65 and older who are unable to walk or self-propel a manual wheelchair in their home or independent living quarters and who meet additional qualifications. Also available to the permanently disabled of any age. Free to those who qualify.
