A Clyde, Ohio, man was killed and a Sugar Grove, Ill., man was hurt seriously yesterday when the cars they were driving collided head-on on U.S. 20 just east of Glenwood Road in Perrysburg Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Bryant Jenkins, 47, of Clyde, driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead at Medical University of Ohio Medical Center, troopers at the patrol s Walbridge post said.

Timothy Barr, 45, of Sugar Grove, driver of the other car, was admitted to St. Luke s Hospital in serious condition, Trooper Ron Anderson said.

A sport utility vehicle driven by Dwight Nutting, Jr., 24, of 5046 Valencia Drive, Sylvania Township, was eastbound on U.S. 20. Mr. Nutting had just looked up from his radio about 3:35 p.m. when he hit Mr. Jenkins car in the rear as it slowed for a vehicle turning into a private driveway.

The impact pushed the Jenkins car across the center line and into the path of Mr. Barr s car, Trooper Anderson said.
