VAN WERT, Ohio - Two teenagers were seriously hurt yesterday in a two-vehicle collision on Richey Road at U.S. 30, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Nathan J. Ross, 18, of Wilshire, Ohio, and a passenger in the car he was driving, Charles N. Goings, 17, of Van Wert, who had to be extricated from the wreckage, were flown by helicopter to Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

Mr. Ross was in critical condition; the Goings youth was in serious condition.

Mr. Ross' auto was southbound on Richey about 12:05 a.m. when he failed to yield for a stop sign at U.S. 30.

The car was struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by Roger L. Wolford, 36, of Newark, Ohio, who suffered minor injuries, but declined treatment, troopers at the patrol's Van Wert post said.
