An 11-year-old boy was hurt Sunday when his shirt became caught on the side mirror of a car driven by a 15-year-old, police said.

Lee Moore of 29 East Oakland St. was treated at St. Luke s Hospital after the accident just after noon Sunday at 5122 Norwich Rd., authorities said.

The teenager, Leslye Townsend of 1058 Tecumseh St., who is related to the boy, was not hurt.

Police said the boy was standing next to the car when it started backing up. His shirt became caught on the mirror and he fell, striking his head on the pavement as his legs were run over by the right front tire, police said.

Police said Miss Townsend was in the driver s seat with the engine running when she placed the car in gear. She was in the car with two other juveniles. Police are investigating what the juveniles were doing in the car at the time of the accident.

No charges have been filed. The accident remains under investigation.
