Woodville puts 7.4-mill levy on Nov. ballot

WOODVILLE - Because their revenue has not caught up with growing expenses, Woodville Village Council voted last night to place a 7.4-mill replacement levy on the November ballot.

Council has asked voters to renew a 5.4-mill tax levy every five years since it was first passed in 1985, but voted to certify the extra millage with the Sandusky County Board of Elections to keep up with rising costs, Council President Gerald Kepus said.

The current levy generates $168,000 a year for the general fund and costs the owner of a $125,000 home $227 a year.

If the extra millage is passed, the levy would generate $243,649 a year for the general fund and would cost $323 for the owner of a $125,000 home.
