A 63-year-old Toledo woman and two children were hurt yesterday when their car crashed into a fence bordering the Sun Oil Co. off Navarre Avenue near Coyne Avenue, Oregon police said.

Hester Robbins, of 644 1/2 Colburn St., was in fair condition in St. Charles Mercy Hospital.

Her passengers, Brittany Robinson, 9, and Raven Robinson, 3, both of Walnut Street, were treated at St. Charles.

Ms. Robbins was driving westbound on Navarre just before noon when she tried to pass other westbound vehicles by driving 72 mph in a 35 mph zone, police said.

The car went out of control, struck an embankment on the south side of the road, and rolled over once before crashing into the fence, police said.

The 3-year-old was the only person wearing a seat belt, but he was not in a child safety seat as required by state law, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
