Fulton County Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities board got a new director of finance and operations.

Jim Hacker, who had been a controller for an insurance company in Columbus and was operations director with the Marion County disabilities board, started with the Fulton County board in July on a one-year contract that is to pay him $45,000.

He replaces Brian Horst who was paid $41,000 to oversee all financial details regarding the organization's $4 million annual budget. In addition to those duties, Mr. Hacker will be responsible for overseeing the disability board's transportation systems, buildings, and grounds.

Mr. Horst announced his resignation in the spring, saying it was unrelated to conflicts at the agency and that he wanted to pursue a different type of work after being there one year.
