Work will slow southbound I-75 in Monroe Co.

MONROE - Southbound I-75 will be reduced to a single lane between Exits 15 and 11 during the midday hours tomorrow for stripe painting, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced yesterday.

Beginning at 9 a.m., single-lane traffic will be set up between Dixie Highway and LaPlaisance Road while crews paint lane stripes for a new traffic pattern. Once the painting is done - scheduled for 3 p.m. - all southbound lanes will reopen through the area, MDOT spokesman Bill Shreck said.

No further southbound lane closings are planned for the Monroe County construction zone until after Labor Day, the spokesman said.
