Findlay Highway Patrol to target aggressive drivers

8/29/2005

FINDLAY The Ohio Highway Patrol said troopers will concentrate on aggressive driving behavior in a problem-site enforcement program during the next three months on I-75 and U.S. 68/State Rt. 15 between I-75 and the Wyandot County line.

Last year in Hancock County, I-75 had the highest number of crashes of any route in the county.

Speed, following too closely, and driver inattention were the predominate causative factors seen in these crashes, said Lt. Jon P. Cross, commander of OHP s Findlay post. The object is to take the proactive approach over the reactive approach.

U.S. 68 and Route 15 also are being targeted because there were three fatalities on those routes in September, 2004.
