Sewer line work to close Byrne at southern end

10/1/2005

Sewer construction will close the southern end of Byrne Road for three weeks, starting Monday morning, the city transportation division announced. Construction will affect part of Detroit Avenue starting next week too.

At 9 a.m., Byrne will be closed for open-trench sewer construction between Detroit and Stengel Avenue. Local access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles, while through traffic will be detoured via Detroit and Glanzman Road.

At 6 a.m. Monday, Detroit will be restricted to southbound traffic only between Schneider Road and Sherwood Avenue for water line construction.

Northbound traffic will be detoured at Sherwood and directed to the Anthony Wayne Trail and Glendale Avenue.

The Detroit detour is scheduled to end by Oct. 21, while Byrne is scheduled to reopen by Oct. 24.

In central Toledo, sewer repairs will close Central Avenue between Collingwood Boulevard and Cherry Street for four days, starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Traffic will be detoured via Collingwood, Ashland Avenue, Bancroft Street, Franklin Avenue, and Cherry.
