Greyhound closings will not affect Toledo

Greyhound Lines will discontinue service Oct. 30 to nine cities in Ohio and Michigan, but will remain in Toledo, a company spokesman said.

"There are no plans to close Toledo," Anna Folmnsbee of Greyhound said. "Toledo's a pretty big location."

The closings are part of a program to eliminate routes that cost more to operate than they bring in or have low customer demand, Ms. Folmnsbee said.

Cities to lose bus service include Canton, Steubenville, and Warren in Ohio, and Battle Creek, Grand Haven, Howell, Ionia, Lincoln Park, and Ypsilanti in Michigan.

Bowling Green lost Greyhound service in August, and Defiance, Maumee, and Monroe lost service in June.
