Replacement for Fostoria city auditor named

FOSTORIA - The office manager of the Fostoria Country Club has been chosen to replace Deb Souder as city auditor.

Steve Garner, 46, was elected to the position Monday night by the Fostoria Republican Party Central Committee. Mr. Garner was chosen unanimously by the committee after members reviewed his credentials and those of three other finalists during an executive session.

Mr. Garner will serve the remainder of Ms. Souder's term, which expires Dec. 31, 2007. Ms. Souder, who had been auditor since 2000, recently resigned after accepting a position with Bowling Green State University.

Mr. Garner is a 1977 graduate of Fostoria High School. He spent 21 years in the Air Force, retiring in 2001 as a master sergeant.
