A Toledo man was hurt seriously yesterday in a three-vehicle collision on US-20A, near Weckerly Road in Monclova Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Ralph G. Braan, 85, of Toledo, was flown to the Medical University of Ohio Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious condition, troopers said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information on anyone by that name.

Mr. Braan was driving east on US-20A (Maumee-Western Road) about 3:15 p.m. when a car driven west on the highway by April Parfait, 20, of Monclova Township was hit from behind by a dump truck while waiting to turn into a driveway. Ms. Parfait's car was pushed into the eastbound lane, where it was hit by Mr. Braan's vehicle.

He was trapped in his car, which overturned, and emergency personnel extricated him, troopers from the Toledo Post said.

Ms. Parfait; her passenger, Elizabeth Huff, 20, of Bald Knob, Ark., and Mr. Braan's passenger, Leona Braan, 68, of Toledo, were treated at St. Luke's Hospital.

Anastasia Konwinski, 33, of Wauseon, driver of the dump truck, was not hurt.

The accident remains under investigation.
