2 area men walk away richer after wins in lottery games

10/25/2005

Two area men have beat the odds to become lottery winners.

An Ohio instant lottery ticket brought extra cash into the pockets of Todd Warncke of Defiance, who won one of the top $100,000 prizes after he purchased a $5 Mustang Money instant game ticket from Archbold Wash N Fill, 1911 South Defiance St. in Archbold.

Mr. Warncke, 41, told the lottery commission he plans to pay off student loans and bills with his winnings.

After tax, his winnings will be $71,500.

Thomas Przysiedzi of Erie, Mich., became the latest area man to claim a $250,000 prize, the spoils of matching all but the mega ball in the Mega Millions game. His winning numbers on Friday were picked at random by the machine.

Mr. Przysiedzi, who refused to comment, purchased his winning ticket from B&W Carryout, 5330 Telegraph Rd.

After taxes, Mr. Przysiedzi will receive $178,750, the Ohio Lottery Commission said.

The Mega Millions jackpot for today's drawing is $128 million.
