Huron motorist dies after SUV crashes, injures 2

HURON, Ohio A Huron man died yesterday after he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and struck a house, authorities said. Two of his passengers were hurt.

Jeremy Salmons, 21, was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, where he was pronounced dead. Lisa Motley, 21, of Huron was in serious condition yesterday in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, while Kyle Wallace, 21, of Huron was taken to Firelands. His condition was unavailable yesterday.

The Ohio Highway Patrol said Mr. Salmons was southbound on Washington Street at 12:01 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the south side of Lincoln Avenue. His vehicle hit the house at 546 Lincoln; no one inside the house was hurt.

Troopers said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
