PORT CLINTON - A team of five divers from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office recovered four guns and numerous pieces of jewelry - all of them stolen - from a Danbury Township pond on Thursday.

The Ottawa County dive team helped the Erie County Sheriff's Office recover the items, which were stolen from homes in the Huron, Ohio, area.

Erie County Sheriff Terry Lyons said the items, worth at least $2,000, were dumped in the pond at the end of Kirk Road by members of a theft ring who were trying to hide evidence of their crimes from authorities.

Arrested on charges related to the thefts were Jason Adams, 18, of Huron Township; Nicholas Favre, 19, of Castalia, Ohio; Brian Lewis, 19, of Castalia; Steven Schenk, 19, of Sandusky, and a 16-year-old Sandusky boy.
