Owens men fall

Owens Community College lost to Hillsborough CC (Tampa, Fla.) 69-65 in the Express Tip-Off Classic.

Ironically, Owens (1-1) beat Hillsborough (3-0) one year ago last night when Express coach Jim Welling, who is retiring after this year, won his 500th game.

Hillsborough s Troy Pierson scored 30 points.

Deauntey Scott had 13 points for Owens.
